Day 1 (Arrival Day)
FRIDAY (or, any day you choose)
Your group will meet at the Napa Valley Bike Tours shop location in Yountville by 2:30 p.m. this afternoon so we can caravan as a group. Or, you're free to meet us at Boggs Mountain on your own schedule (plan to arrive by 7 p.m. for camp dinner tonight). All of your camping necessities and many luxuries are provided (except for your sleeping bag and pillow).
Your camp will be ready when you arrive this evening, so you'll be free to go for a short ride, hike or just hang out and relax.
Soft drinks, water and Gatorade will be provided; bring your own brews or hard stuff, as desired.
After dinner, your guides will handle the dishes, while you kick back and enjoy the camp fire until you retire to your tents for the evening.
Day 2
SATURDAY (or, any day you choose)
You'll awaken and be served a hearty breakfast, chock-full of essential carbs needed for a full day of riding.
After breakfast, we’ll gear up and enjoy riding the pristine singletrack and fire roads surrounding our campsite. While the technical and effort ratings can be pretty subjective from rider to rider, you’ll find these trails great for the slightly experienced beginner, but also plenty of fun for more avid mountain bikers.
The terrain is mostly rolling with bursts of challenging, but short climbs; most of the trails allow you to sail through the forest in a curvy, tree-blurring whirl or exicitement.
We’ll swing into camp for a light lunch, then head back out to conquer more trails! You'll also have the option to call it quits after lunch and relax back at camp.
We'll reconvene around the campfire tonight. Again, your guides will handle the cooking and clean-up, which you and your buddies rehash the day's epic moments.
Day 3 (Departure Day)
SUNDAY (or, any day you choose)
You'll awaken to the smell of eggs and bacon cooking over the fire pit (we'll have standard race-morning fare for carb-cravers, too).
After breakfast, we’ll jump in the van and head to Calistoga to ride Oat Hill Mine Trail. This narrow trail (almost singletrack-like) offers phenomenal views and a challenging workout with a gradual, but seemingly never-ending climb (don’t forget, what goes up, must come down!). Parts of this ride are very technical, but the point to to test your limits, perhaps do something you didn't think you could do... and by all means, if you must walk your bike through a particularly tough section, chances are you won't be the only one!
If the long climb or technical aspects of this day intimidate you, we have other riding locations for beginner-oriented groups or groups who may have over-done it the day before.
In any case, we’ll wrap up our riding by 1-2 p.m. today, so you can get home at a decent hour tonight.
